Georgian citizen Giorgi Chikhladze tried to set fire to the building of the Georgian Parliament on Thursday. He set fire to papers in the reception office and demanded help.
Patrols arriving at the site were able to extinguish the fire, although some of the furniture was burned. No one was hurt during the incident.
Chikhladze said he is in need of some expensive surgery and requested the government assisted him, but did not find sympathy.
"I tried to burn not the parliament building, but myself," he said.
