According to MP Koba Davitashvili, medical insurance reforms in Georgia will be based on the German Bismarck model.
Within the reforms, a single insurance fund will be created, which will be the legal entity of public law and will act on the principle of "tripartism", that is mutual agreement of three sides.
"The state, doctors and patients will be associated public, transparent agreement that will regulate prices in health insurance market, control the quality of medical services and their general availability," 9th Channel quoets Davitashvili as saying.
"All citizens of Georgia will be provided with a basic insurance package. This package does not include everything, because it is not communism. This package makes it possible to prevent people from dying due to lack of funds and, most importantly, to prevent people from falling into poverty," MP said.
He said this insurance package does not include dental services, plastic surgery and analyzes.
