Tbilisi, Georgia, Oct. 28

Georgian state policy's main priority is the human and his/her health, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said presenting the government report for the last two years.
"The health and welfare budget has been increased by about 1 billion GEL (1 GEL = 0.570440 USD). Yes, we budgeted that money because we changed the priorities," the PM said.
He went on to say that a way out will be found, if the priority is the human being and his/her health.
Garibashvili said Georgia is realizing a healthcare project, adding that the country has never had anything similar to this.
"Today, 2,781,000 people benefit from the general healthcare program. This means that healthcare was not available for almost half of the country's population, and now all citizens of Georgia are insured. Our citizens increasingly believe that the government supports them. Yes, the life and health of every human being is very important for us," Garibashvili added.
He said the state will render monetary support in the regions with low birth rate.
"The mountainous regions are gradually becoming deserted, and we have to stop this process," Garibashvili said.
"To improve the demographic balance in the regions with low birth rate, the state will issue monetary benefits for each third and subsequent child in families. In the mountains this will be 200 GEL, and in low-lying areas - 150 GEL per child. I think this will be some kind of incentive for young families," the prime minister said.
