Georgia’s parliamentary chairperson to meet S.Ossetian alternative leader

( Civil Georgia ) - Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze will visit Kurta in the South Ossetian conflict zone on May 4 and meet with Dimitri Sanakoev, a Tbilisi-loyal alternative leader.

Burjanadze told reporters on May 3 that she would discuss with Sanakoev issues related to Tbilisi's plans to set up a provisional administrative entity in the region.

She also said that she was ready to meet with South Ossetian secessionist leader Eduard Kokoity.

Burjanadze's trip to Kurta follows a similar visit by a group of senior lawmakers from the ruling National Movement party on May 3.

Lawmakers from the opposition New Rights and Industrialists parties also visited the South Ossetian conflict zone in April and met with Dimitri Sanakoev.
