President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday met Head of the Change and Reform Bloc at the Lebanese Parliament and Leader of the Free Patriotic Movement MP Michel Aoun and Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water Gebran Bassil, SANA reported.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the situation in the Lebanese arena and the exerted efforts to end the tension among different Lebanese parties in a way that would guarantee the stability and security of the country and enhance the process of accord among the Lebanese people.
The latest developments in the Arab and regional arenas were also on the table.
President al-Assad held talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri in late August 2010 during which he affirmed the importance of resuming the course of calming and dialogue to resolve issues, bolster national accord and support the resistance.
