Egypt will host a conference of the Syrian opposition this weekend, a Syrian oppositionist told Al Arabiya.
"Nearly 150 opposition members, including young revolutionists, have been invited to participate the event," the oppositionist said. "Some of them have arrived in Cairo."
The conference titled "The National Unity Forum" aims to form Foreign Office of the Syrian Revolution, which is intended to coordinate opposition's efforts abroad and to support Syrian revolution.
Syria has been in unrest since mid-March when anti-government protests broke out in the southern province of Daraa and spread to other cities.
The Syrian authorities blamed the unrest on "armed groups and foreign conspiracy," and stressed that it would track down gunmen who have intimidated people and damaged public and private properties.
