Syrian refugees in Turkey relocated to new camps

Syrian refugees in Turkey, which are placed in schools and dormitories, have been relocated to new camps, the Anadolu agency said on Friday.

According to a report of the department on the prevention and management of emergencies (AFAD), currently there are more than 79 thousands of Syrian refugees in Turkey.

Currently there are a total of 10 tented camps for Syrian refugees in the Turkish city of Hatay, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras.

Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for over 17 months.

According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000 people. More than 230,000 people become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
