Thirty Algerian workers have escaped from the gas facility where they were being held hostage together with a group of Western nationals, Algeria's APS agency reported Thursday, quoting local authorities, dpa reported.
On Wednesday, APS had reported the Islamist hostage-takers had released local workers in small groups but other reports had said a number of Algerians were still being held.
