Security forces Monday imposed a total curfew on the western Iraqi city of al-Fallujah amid clashes with gunmen holding electricity company employees hostage, the independent Alsumaria television station reported quoting security officials.
Two policemen were killed earlier when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at the police headquarters, which then came under gun and mortar fire, the broadcaster reported.
The attackers then took refuge in the local electricity board building, taking the employees hostage, dpa reported.
Police succeeded in killing two of the hostage takers and liberating two of the hostages, Alsumaria reported.
