An Israeli military patrol was targeted in the Golan Heights from the direction of Syria early Sunday morning, the Isreali online service Ynet said, dpa reported.
A mortar was fired toward the patrol but didn't fall in an Isreali area. It returned fire, but there were no reports of injuries.
Israel took the Golan Heights in the 1967 war.
