The President of Liberia George Weah is scheduled to visit Israel on Tuesday, Trend reports referring to The Jerusalem Post.
Weah will be in Israel until Thursday and is set to meet both President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his state visit.
His schedule is packed with the usual diplomatic visits including a tour at Yad Vashem and the Old City of Jerusalem.
Weah will also visit Qasr el Yahud, the Christian baptism site in the Jordan River Valley in the West Bank.
The Jerusalem municipality will honor the Liberian president with a soccer game, as Weah was a former professional soccer player in the position of striker.
In June 2017, Netanyahu made a one-day visit to Liberia where he met 10 African leaders at a summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Liberia was one of the African countries to vote in favor of Israel becoming an independent Jewish state during the 1947 UN partition resolution.
