Militants torched eight containers transporting supply for Afghanistan-based allied forces in Pakistan's tribal region late Tuesday night, the News Network International news agency reported on Wednesday.

The containers were returning to Pakistan from Afghanistan when they were torched by militants in Khyber Agency, the report said.

The supply route of the United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces was disrupted on Tuesday when Taliban blew up a 110-year-old bridge in Khyber Agency, Xinhua reported.

Hundreds of supply trucks, trailers and containers were burnt at terminals in Peshawar, capital city of North West Frontier Province in December last year.
