Romanian Health Minister Ion Bazac Wednesday confirmed the country's first A/H1N1 flu case -- a 30-year-old woman who has returned recently from the United States, Xinhua reported.
The young woman living in the United States came back to Bucharest on May 23 with her two children.
The woman went to hospital Tuesday with a fever and the virus was confirmed Wednesday by the specialized Cantacuzino Institute in Bucharest, said Bazac, adding that the patient's family members have also been isolated at the hospital.
According to the official, Romania is now officially on the list of the countries that have confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases.
