An 84-year-old woman was pulled alive by rescuers from under a wrecked building in Port-au-Prince on Friday, 10 days after the earthquake that devastated much of the Haitian capital, the doctor who treated her said, Reuters reported.
"They pulled her out early this morning. She was barely responding, she had wounds all over her body, and maggots. It's very unusual," Dr. Vladimir Larouche, a Haitian-American doctor from New York working at the General Hospital, told Reuters.
"I treated her and made her stable. The (U.S.) army evacuated her to a boat," he added.
