A soldier of the NATO-led international forces was killed by roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan Tuesday, while three Afghan troops were killed in separate attacks, officials said, DPA reported.
Five more Afghan soldiers were injured in the attacks, the Defense Ministry said in a statement, without giving further details.
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force confirmed the death of one of its soldiers in a statement, but did not reveal his nationality or the exact location of the attack. Most of the foreign troops stationed in the south are from the United States, Britain and Canada.
More than 690 international troops have been killed in the war so far this year, the bloodiest period since the start of US-led invasion more than nine years ago.
The combined forces also detained 20 suspected insurgents and seized explosives in various operations, the ministry statement said.
