Date of conclave to be set in early March, Vatican says
Cardinals will decide early next month when they will start the meeting of the conclave to elect a new leader following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, the Vatican said Monday.
The date will be set "in the very first days of March," Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi told reporters, indicating that cardinals will first discuss the issue on March 1, dpa reported.
