Turkey is building new camps for Syrian refugees in the territories liberated from terrorists as part of the Euphrates Shield Operation, said Hami Aksoy, spokesperson of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the Turkish media reported March 6.

Turkey is building new camps for Syrian refugees in the territories liberated from terrorists as part of the Euphrates Shield Operation, said Hami Aksoy, spokesperson of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the Turkish media reported March 6.

He said the camps for Syrian refugees will be built in nine different places, including Idlib city.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the country wants to help 3.5 million Syrian refugees in Turkey to return to their homeland.

On Aug. 24, 2016, Turkish Armed Forces, with the support of the Syrian opposition, launched the Euphrates Shield Operation against the IS militants and liberated the city of Jarabulus as well as the city of Al-Bab in northern Syria.
