Volume of cargo transshipment from Iran, Russia via Turkish ports revealed

In January 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran and Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 4.192 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend Feb. 25.

In January 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran through Turkish ports amounted to 525,233 tons.

“In January 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying the Iranian flag amounted to 171,363 tons, while the volume of cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying flags of other countries totaled 353,870 tons,” the ministry said.

During this period, no cargo transshipment from Iran by vessels flying the Turkish flag was carried out, according to the ministry.

In January 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 3,666,905 tons.

During this period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by vessels flying the Turkish flag amounted to 241,364 tons, according to the ministry.

“In January 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by vessels flying the Russian flag amounted to 598,203 tons, while the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by vessels flying flags of other countries totaled 2,827,338 tons,” the ministry said.

In January 2019, a total of 3,825 ships arrived at Turkish ports.

During the period, 1,311 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 2,514 vessels flying flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

Gross register tonnage of all vessels for this period amounted to 62.633 million tons.

Gross register tonnage of vessels that arrived at Turkish ports flying the flag of Turkey amounted to 8.976 million tons, while gross register tonnage of vessels flying flags of other countries amounted to 53.657 million tons.
