Amount of Turkey's exports, imports via its special economic zones disclosed

From January to August 2019, exports from the special economic zones of Turkey decreased by 0.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $1.461 billion, Trade reports referring to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

According to the ministry, special economic zones accounted for 1.3 percent of total Turkish exports in January-August 2019.

From January to August 2019, imports to the special economic zones of Turkey decreased by 12 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $809.502 million, which is 0.6 percent of total imports of Turkey in the reported period.

According to the ministry, in August 2019, exports from the special economic zones of Turkey decreased by 19.2 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $145.699 million.

Special economic zones account for 1.2 percent of Turkey's total exports in August 2019.

In August 2019, imports to the special economic zones of Turkey increased by 4.8 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $79.632 million, which is 0.5 percent of Turkey's total imports in the specified period.

Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $28.6 billion in August 2019.

In August 2019, Turkish exports grew by 1.69 percent and amounted to $13.1 billion, while the imports decreased by 0.27 percent and amounted to $15.5 billion compared to August 2018.
