From January through October 2019, Turkey exported to Georgia fruits and vegetables worth $15.2 million, which is 56 percent less compared to the same period in 2018, the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association told Trend on Nov. 30.
In first ten months of 2019, the export volume of fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Georgia decreased by 29 percent compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to 81,986 tons.
Over the ten months of 2019, the export of Turkish fruits, vegetables and citrus fruits decreased by 19 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to 2.2 million tons.
“During the mentioned period, Turkey’s income from exports of fruits, vegetables and citrus fruits decreased by 12 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2018 and amounted to $1.3 billion,” the report noted.
From January through October 2019, 864,346 tons of fruits were exported from Turkey, which is 6 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
During the reporting period, Turkey’s income from fruit exports decreased by 1 percent compared to last year’s figure and amounted to $639 million,” the report said.
“Over the mentioned period, the export of vegetables from Turkey decreased by 16 percent compared to last year’s figures, amounting to 728,000 tons,” the report noted.
Over the ten months of 2019, vegetables worth $429 million were exported from Turkey, which is 2 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, according to the report.
From January through October 2019, Turkey exported 643,062 tons of citrus fruits, which is 35 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
During the reporting period, citrus fruits worth $278 million were exported from Turkey, which is 40 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
