Of the 1.773 million tourists who visited Turkey in February 2020, 1.228 million arrived by air, which is 70.86 percent of the total number of visitors, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey told Trend.
Around 30,572 tourists arrived in Turkey by sea in February 2020, which is 1.76 percent of the total number of tourists, the ministry said.
Reportedly, 474,401 tourists arrived in Turkey by road and rail.
About 174,343 tourists arrived in the Turkish province of Antalya by air in February 2020, and 959,462 tourists arrived in Istanbul.
The ministry said that in February 2020, 1.733 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 3.76 percent more compared to February 2019.
Around 3.520 million tourists visited Turkey from January through February 2020, which is 9.68 percent more compared to the same period in 2019.
Around 901,723 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Turkey as of 2019, which is 5.03 percent more compared to 2018.
Azerbaijani citizens accounted for 2 percent of the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey in from January through December 2019.
