Cargo transshipment volume from France via Turkish ports since early 2020 revealed

The volume of cargo transshipment from France via Turkish ports from January through April 2020 amounted to 1.5 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on May 18.

In the reporting period, the volume of transshipment of cargo from France by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 526,076 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 988,756 tons.

Meanwhile, no cargo from France was transshipped by ships flying the French flag via the ports of Turkey.

In the first 4 months of 2020, 131,856 tons of cargo from France was transited through Turkish ports.

From January through April of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.

Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 2.2 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
