Turkey discloses info on cargo movement via Cesme port for 2M2021

Around 217,261 tons of goods were transshipped through the Turkish port of Cesme from January through February 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 215,596 tons of cargo were shipped via the Izmir port by ships flying the Turkish flag and 1,665 tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

“No cargo was moved in transit via the mentioned port in the first 2 months of this year,” said the ministry.

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish ports from January through February 2021 exceeded 58.3 million tons.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 4.78 million tons.

From January through February of this year, more than 53.5 million tons of cargo have been handled by ships flying the flags of other countries, added the ministry.

Meanwhile, 11.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In February 2021, 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled through the ports, including 2.2 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 26.9 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Besides, more than 5.8 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in the reporting month, added the ministry.
