Turkish TEIAS company increases spending on energy projects

Turkey’s TURKIYE ELEKTRIK ILETIM A.S (TEIAS) has increased spending on the energy projects, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend.

The ministry stressed that TEIAS's expenses for the implementation of energy projects as of 2021 will amount to 5.5 billion Turkish liras ($636.9 million), of which 645 million Turkish liras ($74.7 million) accounted for foreign loans.

The company allocated 4.6 billion Turkish liras ($532.6 million) for the implementation of energy projects in 2020.

"TEIAS is implementing 44 energy projects until the end of the year," the ministry said.

Turkey's expenditures on the implementation of energy projects as of 2021 will amount to 16.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion), while last year this figure was 44.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion).

Some 125 energy projects will be implemented in Turkey by the end of this year. The foreign loans in the amount of 3.1 billion Turkish liras ($358.9 million) will be issued for the implementation of energy projects.

Some 16.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion) out of 44.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion) allocated in Turkey for the implementation of energy projects in 2020 accounted for the foreign loans.
