Turkey discloses cargo shipments via its ports from Bulgaria in 10M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 6

The ports of Turkey in 10M2021 handled over 2.8 million tons of cargo from Bulgaria, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Dec. 5.

According to the ministry, at the same time, over 1.2 million tons of cargo from Bulgaria were delivered to ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 1.5 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Also, during this period, ships flying the Bulgarian flag delivered 21,000 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

It is noted that Turkish ports handled 1.1 million tons of transit cargo from Bulgaria in 10M2021.

From January through October this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 318.9 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 25 million tons of goods.

During the mentioned period, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries exceeded 293.8 million tons, the ministry noted.

At the same time, more than 63.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In October 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to over 32.4 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.3 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30 million tons.

Besides, over 6.6 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports, added the ministry.
