BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Turkey continues to openly support the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, Turkey's Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said at a press conference following a trilateral meeting with his Italian and British colleagues in Istanbul, Trend reports.
“Turkey is closely following the developments [in Ukraine]. During the talks, we agreed that a ceasefire should immediately be established in order to prevent further casualties, civilian losses, and deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Tre truce is necessary for bringing early peace and trust, as well as for ensuring stability in the region," Akar said.
According to him, the truce will provide an opportunity to take steps in diplomacy.
