Azerbaijan's postal operator Azerpost LLC prepares to start rendering internet banking services.

Azerpost told Trend on May 22 that the service will be launched soon.

The internet banking service will allow the Azerpost's cardholders to manage their bank accounts at any time, to check the account balance, block cards, receive transaction statements, pay for mobile communication services, utilities and other services.

Currently, Azerpost has some 15,000 cards in active use, which are served by the MilliKart processing center. Azerpost is a principal member of MasterCard.

Currently, there are 15 ATMs and 50 POS-terminals in Azerpost's network.

Azerbaijan's postal operator plans to increase the number of ATMs in its network up to 20. The amount of Azerpost's POS-terminals is also expected to double.

The main purpose of increasing the POS-terminals in Azerbaijan's postal network is to expand opportunities for paying wages to employees of postal service and other structures.
