Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered to pay the debt for Russian military bases located in Kyrgyzstan within 10 days, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev said in the interview with "Echo of Moscow" radio station on Saturday, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier Atambayev within his working visit to Moscow held talks with Russian President.

"He (Medvedev) ordered Russian Defense Minister to pay the debts within 10 days. He called him in my presence," the Kyrgyz president said.

Atambayev said that Russia's debt hits $15 million.

There are several Russian military facilities in Kazakhstan: Kant air base, torpedo-testing site in Karakol, Navy communications center in Kara-Balta village and seismological station in Mailuu-Suu.

Atambayev said that Moscow has not paid for a military base rent in Kant during four years and does not fulfill its obligations, in particular organizing the trainings for pilots.

Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz president did not give a direct answer on a possibility of withdrawing the Russian military facilities from Kyrgyzstan.

"I prefer do everything step by step. I hope in 2014 we will withdraw one base with God's help... We are discussing the agreements with Russia, including the military base," Atambayev said.

Earlier, Atambayev said about the intention to withdraw U.S. air base Manas from Kyrgyzstan after the agreement on its deployment expires in 2014.
