Tajikistan intends to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, following a disaster that has struck the country just recently, Avesta.Tj reported referring to Tajik president press office.
Over 2,100 people were killed in massive landslides that struck Afghanistan's Badakhshan province on May 2.
The initiative to assist neighboring Afghanistan came from Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon.
The President instructed to organize humanitarian aid to the victims in Afghanistan. The aid, which consists of food, drinking water and household essentials, will reportedly be soon sent to Afghanistan.
