By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran's first gas to liquids (GTL) production plant will come on stream in the next four years.

The plant will be established in the Persian Gulf island of Qeshm. It will have a daily capacity of 3,000 barrels. Designing the plant will take 12 months, Iran's IRIB reported on August 5.

The GTL plant will produce kerosene, diesel oil, gasoline, and industrial oils.

The project will cost $180-$200 million.

Gas to liquids is a refinery process to convert natural gas or other gaseous hydrocarbons into longer-chain hydrocarbons such as gasoline or diesel fuel.
