The Azerbaijan Embassy in Georgia conducted a series of events involving the public of Georgia, Georgian and Azerbaijani intellectuals, representatives of the Georgian government in connection with the Memorial Day of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani embassy said.
A documentary film "Zirve" ("Top") about Azerbaijani national leader's life, significant moments was demonstrated at the commemoration meeting in Marneuli.
A wreath was laid at the bust of Azerbaijani great leader Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi on December 11. The pupils, studying at Azerbaijani-Georgian secondary schools, read poems dedicated to Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani-Georgian friendship.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia Namik Aliyev, Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Paata Davitaia, the governor of the Kvemo-Kartli region David Kirkitadze, Deputy Governor, members of the Parliament and other Georgian officials, as well as public representatives of the country attended the ceremony.
A documentary film devoted to Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated.
