Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 12 / Trend I. Isabalayeva /

The Institute of History of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences has brought home a number of artifacts related to Azerbaijan's history, from archives in Berlin belonging to the political archives of the German Foreign Office and the Privy State Archive of Prussian Cultural Heritage, the institute told Trend today.

Valuable maps and photos of buildings burned by Armenians in Baku in 1905 and1906 and pictures of oil wells, refineries and factories, as well as copies of documents relating to the genocide of Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians are among the documents brought from Germany.

Several employees of the Institute of History were on a scientific trip to Germany. They held talks with historians from the country. An agreement was reached to hold a joint press conference in Baku, and to write scientific papers on the Azerbaijani-German relations.

A catalog of documents which are in Berlin archives will be published first. Searches in Germany's archives will be continued.
