By Rahim Zamanov - Trend:

Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Mar. 15 that the United States needs to face the realities and quit imagining things.

Zarif made the remarks at a joint press conference with Greek Foreign Minister, Evangelos Venizelos.

"Both us and the U.S. know that Iran has never sought to nuclear weapons. We have clearly announced that we will not stop our nuclear program, and the other party knows that. So it's now Washington's turn to accept the truth and confess that Iran is not seeking to build nuclear weapons," Zarif said.

Iranian minister's remarks were made in response to the U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry.

Kerry said earlier that Iran needs to make some important decisions in the next round of nuclear talks with the P5+1.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif says UN-Arab League Joint Special Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi is due in Tehran on March 16 for talks on the ongoing Syrian crisis.

Zarif once again voiced Iran's support for a political solution to the three-year-long conflict in Syria.

Iran's foreign minister further stressed that the future of the Arab country should only be decided by its own people.

Greek foreign minister, for his part, echoed Zarif's remarks saying that the humanitarian disaster in Syria is a global crisis.

Venizelos urged the international community to take action against what he called an unacceptable situation in Syria.
