An event took place in Georgia to commemorate the national holiday of Azerbaijan - Republic Day

The event on the occasion of this momentous day was held in the Center of Culture of Azerbaijanis of Georgia in Tbilisi. The event began with laying wreaths and flowers at the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the graves of founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic F.Kh.Khoyski and Kh.Agayev The event was attended by the head of the Azerbaijani-Georgian inter-parliamentary friendship group, MP Ganira Pashayeva, the Georgian parliament members Marika Verulashvili, Azer Suleymanov, Ramin Bayramov and others, as well as official of the Georgian representation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Arif Aliyev, head of Center of Culture of Azerbaijanis Fazil Hasanov, representatives of the Georgian and the Azerbaijani public. Making a speech in the event, MP Ganira Pashayeva said that holding holidays in Georgia is very important for us. These two states go forward with confidence. Azerbaijan is interested in expanding ties with Georgia. An unfair play takes place in the South Caucasus, but the peoples of Georgia and Azerbaijan are able to retain their independence. "The Azerbaijanis, densely living in Georgia, played an important role in the development of relations between the two countries. As long as people have the will, we will not allow anyone to attack on our independence," said Pashayeva. During the event was highlighted the importance of implementation of projects in Georgia at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Georgian representation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Gilan Holding - Jale, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Center of Culture of Azerbaijanis.
