Today the libraries of Azerbaijan have a wide stock which always grows with the belles-lettres and the specialized literature. But the citizens often have difficulty in choosing the library which has the necessary publication in its stock.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Respublic decided to create the information portal for eliminating the similar problems and the maximum comfortable access of the citizens to the information resources. It is possible to get the maximum full information about the necessary publications in a short time by the means of this portal. The project has been entrusted to ULTRA which realizes it successfully.
The portal of "Electronic Library" is the information resource submits the full information about the required publication. Due to the cosy search and navigation system the visitors can get to know the address of the nearest library immediately, where they can get this or other literature.
The system is run by means of the portal's panel of the centralized management where the module was placed which realizes the integration with the library-information system of National library named after M.F.Akhundov. And the users of the site can use the such functions as: electronic catalogue, registration, issuing the books and reporting.
"Local library" module was placed in the system of "Electronic Library" which is the separate system and can work off-line and allows to connect the formerly non-computerized library to the portal.
The online book reservation system was implemented in the portal to extend the speed of services to the visitors. After the registration and creating the personal profile any person will get "Reserve" opportunity of the necessary publication, next he will be given the code and he will be able to get the necessary book in the library by means of it.
It should be also noted that the portal gives the additional domain name (sub-domain) for each new library connected to the system and including the means for creating of the separate site.
