About $ 9 million allocated to technical equipment of radio monitoring network in Baku and Absheron

State Radio Frequency Department under Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry has defined equipment supplier for creation of Centralized Automated Radio Monitoring Network (CARMN), the department told Trend on Thursday.

According to the evaluation of the department's tender commission, Sinam company was selected as a supplier of equipment and services, a contract with which was signed in December last year.

Work on installation of equipment worth a total of seven million manat will be held in the department's centres in Baku and the Absheron peninsula by late 2013.

Three centres of centralized monitoring system in Yeni Guneshli, Mehdiabad villages and Ganja will operate within project on construction of monitoring network.

Construction of centres in these two villages has been completed, and necessary technical equipment will be provided. The department also completed the construction of an enclosure for the future centre in Ganja, construction of which is expected following the allocation of necessary funds.

Construction of a monitoring network provides organization of radio control over broadcasting, creating an information base that reflects technical parameters of broadcasting stations in the country, which can affect the country's air space due to geographical terrain. The project's implementation will ensure optimal choice of the transmitters' location and parameters.
