Azerbaijan's revenues from the first satellite program reached $10 million, Azerkosmos JSC told Trend on Dec.18.

Currently the satellite operator of Azerbaijan has sold over 50 percent of resources of the Azerspace/Africasat-1a satellite. Over 70 TV and radio channels are broadcasted via the satellite, 19 of which are local.

The satellite implements both standard and live broadcast of TV channels. Satellite resources are also focused on rendering VSAT-services and the creation of a secure data network for geographically remote offices of international companies.

The Azerspace/Africasat-1a satellite has been placed on an orbital position of 46 degrees east longitude. To view television content custom satellite dishes must be configured as follows: Frequency - 11169 MHz, speed: 20400, polarization - horizontal and FEC - 5/6.

Azerbaijan's first telecommunication satellite Azerspace/Africasat-1a was launched in February 2013. The service area of Azerspace/Africasat-1a includes Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and African countries.
