Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda ranked sixth in the individual senior competition at the European Championships in Baku.
Durunda scored 69,674 points in all four rounds of the competition. Durunda gained 17,733 points for the composition with a hoop, 17,566 points for the composition with the ball, 16,950 points for the composition with clubs, 17,275 points for the composition with a ribbon. But after the protest was filed in connection with the points for the composition with a ribbon, the scores were raised to 17,425.
Russian gymnast Yana Kudryavtseva won gold with 73,499 points in the individual competition among seniors. Belarusian gymnast Melitina Staniouta ranked second with 72,416 points. Ukrainian gymnast Anna Rizatdinova ranked third with 71,649 points.
Another Azerbaijani gymnast Gulsum Shafizade ranked 15th place with 66,416 points. In particular, Shafizade gained 17.000 points for the composition with the ball - 16.033 points, for the composition with clubs - 16,500 points, for the composition with ribbon - 16,883 points.
The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is being held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries compete for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time. The championship itself will last till June 15.
