BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. The Judges Union of Azerbaijan is a prominent and active member of the International Association of Judges (IAJ) and its European Group, Secretary General of the IAJ, Giacomo Oberto, highlighted at an international conference "Law and Climate,” Trend reports.
Oberto expressed optimism that the Judges Union of Azerbaijan's engagement with the IAJ will continue to increase in the months to come.
"Our primary mission focuses on safeguarding the independence of the judiciary. However, we also aim to enhance relationships between judges and judicial organizations globally. We cannot overlook the crucial issue of environmental protection," Oberto added.
Founded in Salzburg in 1943, the International Association of Judges is a professional, non-political global organization that unites national judges' associations. Its main goal is to protect the independence of the judiciary, which is essential for ensuring justice and upholding human rights and freedoms.
The organization currently includes 92 national associations or representative groups from all continents.
