The refusal of the Netherlands to host the second European Games won't cause any problem, and by no means overshadow the First European Games in Baku, Patrick Hickey, president of the European Olympic Committees said.

He made the remarks during the press conference in Baku June 11.

He expressed confidence that the successful holding of the First European Games in Baku will attract hosts for the second European Games in 2019.

The decision on holding the second European Games in the Netherlands was adopted at the General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees in May.

However, on June 10, the Netherlands refused from hosting the European Games in 2019.

The first ever European Games will be held in Baku on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
