The role of entrepreneurship in ensuring Azerbaijan’s sustainable economic development is growing every day, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.
Jabbarov made the remark at the opening ceremony of the House of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Khachmaz district, Trend reports on Feb. 7.
“One of the priority spheres of ongoing economic reforms is the transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises into the main driving factor of the economy,” the minister said.
The minister also stressed that during the conference dedicated to the results of the activity for the first year of the implementation of the state program for the socio-economic development of the Azerbaijani districts in 2019-2023, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev determined the development of entrepreneurship, the formation of the main part of GDP in the medium term through this sector of the economy and an increase in employment in it as the main goals.
"The House and Center of SMEs in Khachmaz created as the continuation of the state support measures for entrepreneurs, is a convenient platform in terms of providing entrepreneurs with high-quality and transparent services," the minister said.
Azerbaijan’s Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) commissioned the first House of SMEs in Khachmaz district on Feb. 7.
Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Chairman of the Board of the Agency Orkhan Mammadov and Head of the Khachmaz District Executive Power Elnur Rzayev, as well as entrepreneurs from the Guba-Khachmaz economic region and media representatives attended the opening ceremony.
The entrepreneurs participating in the event stressed the role of the House of SMEs in their activities and expressed appreciation to the president for the excellent conditions created for conducting private business.
