The signing of the memorandum in April 2019 created the basis for promoting trade and commerce between the US and Azerbaijan, the co-chairman of the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) Reza Vaziri said at the partnership summit in Baku to support business and professional associations in Azerbaijan, Trend reports on Feb. 18.
“Among the achievements reached during a short period are: two US agricultural forums, two trade missions, the signed cooperation document, the cooperation agreement between the Azerbaijani city of Gadabay and Stillwater city in Oklahoma (US),” Vaziri said.
"USACC, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce together with the Azerbaijani mission of the US Agency for International Development USAID, organized the Oklahoma-Azerbaijan agricultural forum in 2019,” Vaziri said. “More than 30 agricultural companies and representatives of relevant state agencies, as well as Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov participated in the forum. This is high appreciation for business."
The chairman said that the Azerbaijani and US companies reached a number of achievements.
"USACC certified trade mission was organized in 2017, as a result of which several contracts worth millions of dollars were signed,” the chairman said. “A number of the US companies entered the Azerbaijani market, while the rest expanded their participation in this market."
Vaziri stressed that USACC will continue to work with USAID to achieve even bigger success.
