BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Hotels of various categories, including luxury and local brands, are planned to be built in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Hotel Association (AHA) Gunay Saglam told Trend.
According to Saglam, Karabakh has great tourism potential.
"The main objectives of the association are the development of this potential, attracting the attention of investors to this beautiful region of Azerbaijan, and the preparation of new projects, taking into account the characteristics of each district," she said.
In order to begin the construction, AHA expects the creation of new infrastructure, the CEO noted.
"We are starting from scratch. There are many plans to build hotels of different categories and capacities in order to make the territories liberated from the Armenian occupation [in the 2020 Second Karabakh War] attractive for tourism. We have beautiful nature and all the resources to build hotels at the highest level," added Saglam.
AHA promotes the application of international standards by sharing international and local best practices with hotels to improve quality and ensure fair competition in the hospitality industry.
