Ekaterina Lakhova, the Member of the Federation Council, the Chairperson of the Union of Women of Russia, said that the high stability is maintained in Azerbaijan even on the eve of parliamentary election.
"The situation is quiet in the country," she told the Moscow - Baku portal. "If it were not so, everybody would immediately start talking about this."
She said that she greatly respects Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
"I know that Mehriban Aliyeva is greatly involved in charitable activity, the development of the women's movement," she said. "At the same time, she has family, children."
She said that Mehriban Aliyeva is exemplary for many people.
The senator recalled that the Eurasian Women's Forum was held in St. Petersburg in mid-October.
"A delegation from Baku also attended the forum." she said. "The Azerbaijani delegation worked very actively at this forum. The Azerbaijani president's policy was perfectly presented there. The very interesting examples on the activity were cited, for example, the way of solving the social issues."
She also expressed confidence in the victory of the ruling New Azerbaijan party in the upcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.
The parliamentary election will be held in Azerbaijan November 1.
