Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 3 / Trend M. Aliyev /

Number of parliaments, which will accept resolutions supporting Azerbaijan's just position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, will increase, head of the Azerbaijani Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov told Trend today.

"The general tendency is that the number of countries, organizations, presidents and senior officials of countries increases and will increase, as all international organizations - UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, PACE, where all world countries are represented, reflected the truth on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in their documents," Seyidov said.

Italy and Germany's legislative bodies in the resolutions taken on the South Caucasus noted the need to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the principle of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the United States - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of Nagorno Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
