The Azerbaijani army destroyed the Armenian regiment, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, Colonel Vagif Dargahli said Trend reports.
“By the attacks of the Azerbaijani army, the third Martuni motorized rifle regiment in the Khojavend district was completely destroyed. The command of the Armenian army, appealing to everyone, asks for help with vehicles for the evacuation of the dead and wounded,” said the spokesman.
On the night of September 28-29, intense fighting continued along the entire length of the front, Dargahli added.
The Armenian armed forces have repeatedly made attempts to counterattack in order to regain the lost positions in the Fuzuli-Jabrayil and Aghdara-Tartar directions, the colonel said.
The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, deployed in these directions, successfully defending themselves, immediately stopped all attempts of the Armenian army, he said.
“During the night battles, a mixed column of Armenian armored vehicles and vehicles advancing from Madagiz in the direction of Aghdara, and an artillery battery providing fire support for its movement, were destroyed by the air assets of the Air Force and our troops stationed in this direction,” Dargahli said.
Dargahli also noted that 1 tank, 1 vehicle, and up to 10 Armenian servicemen, who were trying to advance in the Fizuli-Jabrayil direction of the front in the morning, were destroyed by artillery fire.
“Intense fighting is continuing. The Armenian army was forced to retreat, suffering heavy losses,” said the spokesman.
