Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, expressed a will to participate in the regulation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict, Trend reports.
“I want, desire and could participate in the regulation of the situation in the Caucasus between the close nations of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Nazarbayev said to a news conference held in Astana on Monday.
The President noted that he participated in the regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 1991. “I witnessed the tragedy of the close nations,” he stressed.
“Conflicts between nations, close neighbors lead only to grief and misfortune of people. Therefore, I would like to participate in the regulation of the situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Nazarbayev said, RIA Novosti reports.
