Electricity Supply Problems Rise in Azerbaijan’s South-West Region

Azerbaijan, Barda / corr. Trend S.Jaliloglu/ Unstable weather conditions caused electricity problems in south-west region of Azerbaijan. Fall of temperature caused the fall of pressure of the gas delivered to the regions, Rasim Adigozelov, the head of Gas Consumption Department of Barda region reported to Trend on 7 January. According to Adigozelov, measures are being taken to remove the problems.

The temperature has dropped dramatically in Azerbaijan over the last three days. Snowfall in southern and northern regions of Azerbaijan has reached half meter, in southern and western regions - 35- 45 cm. During these days, foggy and snowy weather was observed in Baku as well. The traffic has become paralyzed due to icy conditions on the roads. Weather forecasters say that unstable weather conditions will last several days more.

As a result of dramatic fall of temperature, in six villages of Agjabedi region the electricity supply has been stopped. Electricity supply problems rose due to the break of electricity lines of high voltage, a source stated to Trend in Electricity Distribution Network of Agjabedi region on 7 January.
