Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 August / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Shooting took place in the capital city of Azerbaijan.
As a result of a quarrel at Nardaran settlement of Sabunchu District, at approx 20:00 on 11 August, Zulfugar Jabbarov, 23-year-old resident of Nardaran settlement in Sabunchu District, opened fire to a Mercedes minibus which was driven by Sahib Salmanov, the Sabunchu District Prosecutor's Office said to Trend on 12 August. Nobody was injured or detained.
Criminal case was filed with respect to Jabbarov, who lives in the Absheron Street of Nardaran Settlement, for contravening several Articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. He is being searched. Jabbarov resisted the police and Zaur Badalov, the deputy chief of Police Department 14, was shot in his head during the preventive measures carried out by police to detain him in the early morning of 21 February 2008. Jabbarov escaped from the scene of the incident.
Vugar Jabbarov, 20-year-old resident of Nardaran settlement, and his brother were detained in result of the preventive measures carried out by employees of Sabunchu District Police Department's Office- 14 in March. Ehsan Zahidov, official of the Interior Ministry, said that 6.19g of marijuana and one rifle were found on V.Jabbarov. He resisted the police and broke the glass of the police officers' service car. Zahidov said that criminal case was filed for contravening Articles 221 (hooliganism), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, conveyance or carrying of firearms, component details of them, ammunition, explosive substances and facilities) and 234 (illegal manufacturing, production, purchase, storage, conveyance, sending or sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors) of the Criminal Code.
At approx 8.00am, employees of the Police Office-14 held preventive measures to detain Jabarov. As a result, Z.Jabbarov's father Amirhan Jabbarov opened fire to police officers and escaped. During the operations, Aydin Shiraliyev, district investigator of the police department, injured his arm when climbing over the fence and was hospitalized.
Sabunchu District Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal case for contravening Articles 120 (calculated homicide), 29 and 120 (attempted homicide) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, conveyance or carrying of firearms, component details of them, ammunition, explosive substances and facilities) of the Criminal Code with respect to Z.Jabbarov. Investigation is underway.
Search of Jabarov was continued on 12 August. The Interior Ministry's Chief Department on Struggle against Organized Crime held operative measures in Nardaran and Mashtaga settlements to arrest the criminals. Three people died as a result of shooting. Zulfugar and Amirhan Jabbarov died from bullet wounds.
