Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseyinli / The fire on the territory of the Jeyranbatan reservoir of Azerbaijan, based on the Baku-Sumgayit highway took place on 31 May within the 200 cu m area.
The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that the cause of the incident was a cigarette which was thrown out of the car window. The fire was totally extinguished by the employees from the Khyrdalan office of the Protection and Restoring Woods of the Ecology Ministry and the Absheron anti-fire station.
The Ministry has called to the citizens of Azerbaijan to protect the woods, which have moisture- resistant qualities.
